Following the withdrawal of BR(S) rebuilt 'Merchant Navy'-class 4-6-2 No.35028 "Clan Line" for overhaul at the end of June, the 'BELMOND BRITISH PULLMAN' was in need of a steam locomotive to operate its 'Surrey Hills Luncheons' and the occasional Bristol excursions. The locomotive chosen to replace "Clan Line" until it returns is new-build BR(E) A1-class 4-6-2 No.60163 "Tornado".
In this video, we see the A1 passing through Clapham Junction on its first outing with the VSOE on Saturday 8th August 2015.
