“Blues is a Woman” is a live concert and theater piece celebrating women blues artists from Ma Rainey to Bonnie Raitt, set to debut in early 2017. With storytelling, projected imagery and a thrilling live concert, "Blues is a Woman" transports the audience back to the very early origins of American’s most enduring art form.
Written by San Francisco educator and vocalist Pamela Rose whose previous work, “Wild Women of Song: Great Gal Composers of the Jazz Era” shone a light on key women in early jazz and toured nationally for five years, gathering critical acclaim:
