Hey kids! Its your good buddy Uncle Ben Eller here with a brand new episode of Weekend Wankshop. Here on episode 267, we're going to learn something you guys have been asking about for YEARS: how to tackle the shred solo licks featured in the intro animation of my This is Why You Suck at Guitar series!!!
When i made that lesson series, i decided it needed an intro as obnoxious as the title, so i just plugged in my 7 string, and improvised a bunch of shreddy licks until i landed on one that seemed to fit. I actually had to go back through and transcribe my own playing this time, and i found a few interesting things in the way that i played it along the way! In this lesson, you're gonna get a note-by-note breakdown of these licks in the key of A minor, as well as some tips on picking, pickslanting, the mysterious "swiping" technique i suspect i was using back then, secrets of learning the notes on the fretboard, and much more!!!
