The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, which connects Kobe and Awaji Island, is one of the world's largest suspension bridges.

The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is part of the Kobe Awaji Naruto Expressway, so only cars and express buses can access it.

With a total length of 3,911m, this is one of the world's largest suspension bridges, crossing the Akashi Strait and connecting Honshu and Awaji Island.
Its appearance is so beautiful that it is nicknamed the Pearl Bridge, and when it is lit up at night, the design changes depending on the season, creating a fantastic landscape.
On the Kobe side of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, there is a circuit-style promenade called the Maiko Marine Promenade. It is a popular spot where you can see the Akashi Strait directly below from a height of 47m above the sea. The entrance is a huge bridge pier that rises in the park.

There are other sightseeing spots near the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, such as the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Museum, the Former Residence of Sanji Muto, and the Maiko East Seaside Green Space.
