This webinar will discuss an innovative building brick that is almost entirely made from recycled materials and its potential for use in the landscape industry.
This talk will present Kenoteq’s patented ‘K-Briq’, which is an unfired brick made of 90% recycled material. It is made using traditional methods and spurns environmentally unfriendly cement. The K-Briq is made nearly exclusively from waste materials and boasted the highest recycled content of anything in the UK. Whilst in its infancy, this brick has huge potential as an alternative construction material for the landscape industry.
Speaker: Dr Sam Chapman is the MD of spin-out company from Heriot-Watt University, Kenoteq Ltd. He has a master’s in structural engineering with architectural design and a PhD in carbon assessment of wind power. He works with Kenoteq founder Dr. Gabriela Medero and together they were awarded an Innovation Fund from Zero waste Scotland to help grow Kenoteq.
This talk is one of a series of talks to explore sustainable design solutions for the landscape industry in response to the climate crisis. It is brought to you by Rachel Bailey of Rachel Bailey Garden Design Ltd., and Becca Duncan of Blossoming Gardens, both design studios based in Scotland.
The series of talks is kindly supported by Zero Waste Scotland.
