From "Kinderszenen", or "Scenes from Childhood". My interpretation of this piece is inspired by Martha Argerich's performance of it. She has a 1984 recording of Kinderszenen from Deutsche Grammophon, and the whole thing is available on Youtube. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful interpretation of this opus.
This piece really does evoke childhood nostalgia, more than any other from this opus. It sounds innocent and playful, but also kind of wistful. Even though it was completed in 1838, those feelings are perfectly translated to any generation since then.
