Case Scenario: Diarrhea and Vomiting
Madam Ama Akosua, a 65-year-old businesswoman, was rushed to your ward with a diagnosis of severe diarrhea and vomiting of 3 days' duration, and the patient is in a state of shock.
The clinical assessment revealed:
• Blood Pressure: 80/65 mmHg
• Pulse: 120 bpm
• Respiration: 40 cpm
Laboratory tests revealed:
• Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) in higher quantity
Other findings:
• Urine was scanty and concentrated
• Skin looked inelastic and dry
Using the nursing process, plan care for the patient.
