The Trade Agreement Act of 1979 (also known as the TAA) provides guidelines for the US government when it comes to purchasing products or services. Any federal program can choose to only purchase products that originated from a "TAA-designated" country. In order to be considered "designated," a country has to fulfill one of the four following requirements:

• A country with a free trade agreement with the US
• A World Trade Organization member who has signed the GPA
• One of the Least Developed Countries
• One of the Caribbean Basin Countries

China does not fulfill any one of these four requirements, meaning anything manufactured in China cannot be TAA-compliant no matter what.

VIVOTEK, on the other hand, is manufactured in Taiwan, one of the original signers of the WTO GPA. This means anything manufactured in Taiwan is by default TAA-compliant.

How does the TAA differ from the NDAA? When should you install VIVOTEK over something like Uniview or R-Series? Well, there's not really a one-size-fits-all answer, but this video is our best attempt.
