Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny is a 1996 HBO network television movie.
Though Russian gypsy music might seem a little unpredictable to Western ears, as most songs progress through slow pensive passages only to swell with emotion and explode into heavy, hard-driving endings, the raw visceral energy of the music quickly becomes infectious.

Yes, Rasputin the damned mad monk really looked bad in front of everyone in the dance scene. However, to err is to be human and anyone who has not ever been in a similar situation should cast the first stone. Although with zero musical talent, Rasputin felt music in his heart and wherever there was a balalaika, there he was making all the Russians angry with the infernal sound he called music. It happens to many of us that the first time we hear drunk songs it seems very unpleasant, but even Theodore Bikel felt the joy that comes from playing and singing these exotic melodies. So finally, without that annoying ambient sound, here is the Russian gypsy song that inspired Rasputin to make life miserable for every living being with the ill-gotten gift of hearing.
