In this session, gravity is brought before the court, accused of causing phenomena it may only describe—and blamed for crimes it did not commit. The case unfolds through history, from Aristotle’s early observations and Galileo’s free-fall reasoning to Newton’s force-based gravity and Einstein’s radical reimagining of spacetime.
As the trial progresses, gravity is both defended and prosecuted: cleared of false accusations, yet implicated in deeper cosmic mysteries it still cannot fully explain. From zero-G motion and spacetime curvature to black holes and the unresolved conflict between gravity and quantum mechanics, the court confronts a central question—whether gravity is a force, an effect, or something still beyond our grasp. The verdict remains postponed, until physics itself can bridge the gap between the macroscopic universe and the quantum world.
