This is a little experiment I did a few months back.
I pored a dish of molten Aluminium and then pressed a piece of Jarrah burl wood into the pool of liquid metal and held it there until it hardened.
After it had cooled I pulled out the burl to leave a very interesting negative casting of the lumpy timber.
Not sure what I am going to do with the piece yet. Any suggestions post them in the comments section.
