Firing on... EIGHT! TVR Griffith 400 unleashed - High-performance Ford V8 exhaust noise at Goodwood track day...
After a dalliance with a twin-cylinder engine we’re returning to the reassuring heft of an American V8 in the form this week of a petite, American-built TVR Griffith 400 and its Ford 289cu. in. engine.
Owned by Peter and Nathan Dod of Speedcrete Racing, this particular 400 has recently emerged from a significant rebuild to bring it back to correct FIA spec for historic racing in Europe – the team planning on a return to Spa, where the car has previous winning history…
As for the simple matter of recording this Firing On… Well even with the microphones turned all the way down they struggled with the wall of sound from that high-performance V8… much to the owner’s delight!
