EP 96 Rio Costilla
After working Mon./Tues./Wed. remote at my Purgatory camp site I broke camp and traveled south to Rio Costilla Camp area. This is a pay per night dispersed camping type thang. I pick the most secluded site available and set up camper door 3 foot from a moving stream. Beautiful.
I only allowed two nights to camp at this spot before moving on.
SxS riding was limited to graded dirt roads and I would not go back just to ride SxS. But the beauty and stream side camp spot made up for the lack of technical trails.
Fly fishermen & fisherwomen were abundant. The folks I talked to were catching fish.
This area is "touted" as largest concentration of Elk in the southern United States but I did not see one Elk. Maybe saw 4 or 5 whitetail deer only. Could of been because I was there in August. No worries.
To sum it all up..."Good Times !!"
