Our FIRST EVER Disneyland California Trip 🇺🇸| TRAVEL DAY | 17 January 2026

Come along with us on our travel day from London Heathrow (LHR) to Los Angeles (LAX) on a direct British Airways flight, kicking off our long-awaited Disneyland California trip on Saturday 17th January 2026.

We landed at LAX and used the MPC (Mobile Passport Control) app — and wow, it made such a difference. I completed the forms in advance, then once we arrived, checked in on the app, uploaded a quick face scan, and it directed us straight to the MPC lane at passport control. Hardly any queue at all while the regular lines were super long — if you’re flying into the USA, this is a must!

After collecting our luggage, we took the shuttle bus to the car rental centre and picked up our hire car with Alamo. We used the skip the counter option, scanned our QR code, and went straight to choose our car. I booked a standard SUV, and Scott picked a GMC Terrain — perfect for our California adventures 🚗

The drive wasn’t as chaotic as expected (thankfully!), but parking at Frank & Sons was absolutely mental. It took around 30 minutes of circling before we finally found a space — pure luck!

We checked into Alamo Inn & Suites Anaheim, a budget-friendly hotel close to Disneyland. We weren’t expecting much, but it was actually really nice — clean, spacious, and ideal as a base. I’d requested a park-facing room and we could see the Incredicoaster and Pixar Place Hotel, which felt very magical after a long travel day ✨

We then walked into Downtown Disney to explore and grab some dinner, but with it being a Saturday night and an American holiday weekend, it was incredibly busy — and jet lag definitely won. Early night for us!
