CMAC Planning Meeting 8 23 25

Описание: The College of Media, Arts, and Communication (C-MAC) is wrapping up a historic first week of classes as a new college under a new plan to elevate the student experience and to ensure that more of our graduates are employed at graduation.

President @whirlj2 's academic reorganization plan was revealed internally in late June which gave CMAC faculty and staff about 56 days to come up with an academic concept, research market positions, consult with industry partners, and our own students to design our 'classroom to career' concept.

The final touches came during a six-hour marathon retreat in the beautiful Kennedy Art Gallery on August 11 where 12 faculty and staff sat around a table with computers and worked on student success ideas.

We were not going to leave until we were done.

We did not always agree on the approaches, and I heard a lot of "No, dean, that's not going to work!"
🤣🤣🤣 meaning that we threw out some original ideas and replaced them with new ones based on the survey feedback from students and faculty.

But in the end, we came out with a workable plan that we are piloting together-- and we will see how things go and pivot in spring if we need to.

So grateful to this dedicated team for their very thoughtful work which will move us in innovative directions to support teaching and learning and student success. Something magical happens when colleagues get in a room and exchange ideas:
