On this episode we review one of my absolute favorite 2018 releases from Seiko, the 'Mini-Turtle,' this particular model is the J1 'Made in Japan' variant and this thing just might be the best new original diver design they've had since the mighty SKX007. With Seiko releasing so many up stream ($$$) diver models that pay homage to their history, its nice to see them release an affordable option that takes their design language into the future at a more timeless and wearable scale, being the smallest wearing 42mm diver I've ever experienced. To my the Mini Turtle is the other side of the coin to Seiko's ULTRA modern SBDC039 Transocean diver, where the Transocean goes high-end modern, the Mini-Turtle modernizes Seiko's classic formula for more of a distilled pure Seiko experience.
