TINY Bedford Vintage Watch Service Part 1: Disassembly – Hobbyist Watchmaking & Repair

Описание: Welcome to a new video series I'm making on watch repair and restoration! Today I'm disassembling a women's watch movement made by Bedford. I got in on ebay for $13. It's a simple manual-wind movement, but the real challenge here is its size. Measuring just 21.3mm x 9.3mm, it's the smallest movement I've ever worked on. Although it was running when it arrived, I could tell by inspection that it was in dire need of servicing, as the amplitude of the balance wheel was low and it often stopped when I put it in certain orientations. In this video, I go through the disassembly process (not without any big mistakes though, haha). I'm excited to clean it up and (hopefully) restore it to a healthy condition in the next video!

A quick disclaimer: I'm by no means a professionally trained watchmaker, so please use any "advice" I give in this video at your own risk. I'm still learning! Rather, I hope that these videos provide some educational value where you (and I) can learn from my mistakes! I also really wanted to give people an idea on what is possible with a basic set of tools and a hobbyist-level understanding of mechanical watch movements. I also wanted to share my thought process, mistakes, and successes as I work on these "real-life" repairs as a hobbyist-level watchmaker.
