Creepypasta Animated Horror Short - "CREEP FACTOR: The Patients"

For an upcoming project, I've been experimenting with different storytelling formats on YouTube. "The Patients" is still fully animated in Unreal but the storytelling focuses more on the narration than the animation. It's more about listening to a scary bedtime story- much like Creepypasta content on YT. 

The character comes from Daz. I provided the voice and performed the mocap/facial cap using the Perception Neuron 3 system and Motion Live in iClone. The lipsync was done with Acculips. 
Basically, I record the narration first, then "act" to it for the motion capture. After that, I'll use Motion Live (iPhone) to record my facial animation. The recorded audio is then imported into iClone for Acculips. Once all those pieces are put together, the entire FBX is uploaded to Unreal.

There's only one camera angle so it's pretty simple to get setup in Sequencer and exported. 

I had planned to use stock video footage for the supplemental images but it wound up being easier to just create shots in Unreal. Not a deep dive but just enough to help with the atmosphere.  

I'm still playing with the format but it's fun to tell stories this way. Animated shorts take a good amount of time to complete but this can be done quickly and regularly.
