When designing an object, commonly drafter need to have a specific view to understand the depth of physical shape of the model. This view would have the shape of the object be taken from a different angle such as front, top, side, and as well as a 2D representation of the 3D view.

In AutoCAD, even for 2D sketches, we can still create representations of objects from different angles of view. This flat view of the front, top and side view is called the orthographic view, and the 3D representation from multiple angles is called the isometric view.
