The film begins in 1999, when Indian officials are forced to negotiate with terrorists in Kandahar to save innocent passengers. This incident plants the seed for a covert mission later named Operation Dhurandhar, officially approved after the Parliament attack in 2001.

The mission’s most dangerous step is sending an undercover agent, Hamza Ali Mazari, into Pakistan through Afghanistan. Hamza enters Karachi’s violent Lyari area, where crime, gangs, and politics are deeply connected. To survive, he lives like a common man, works small jobs, and slowly earns the trust of local people.

Because of his Baloch identity, Hamza gets close to feared gangster Rehman Dakait and his cousin Uzair Baloch. When internal gang rivalries turn deadly and Rehman’s son is killed, Hamza uses the chaos to prove his loyalty. His bravery and weapon skills earn him a powerful position inside the gang.

As Hamza climbs higher, he discovers shocking truths—Pakistan’s intelligence links with gangsters, fake currency operations targeting India, and plans for massive terror attacks. He secretly passes this information back to Indian intelligence.

Meanwhile, Hamza falls in love with Yalina, the daughter of a local political leader. What begins as love slowly turns into strategy, as Hamza plans to control Lyari from within. Despite his warnings, the 26/11 Mumbai attacks still happen, leaving him broken but more determined than ever.

In a shocking twist, Hamza betrays Rehman, setting him up to be arrested and ultimately killed. Only then is the biggest truth revealed—Hamza is actually Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an Indian prisoner turned secret operative.

The film ends with Hamza fully in control of Lyari, preparing for an even bigger enemy, hinting at a darker and more explosive sequel.

Released on 5 December 2025, Dhurandhar became a massive box-office success despite controversy, bans in Gulf countries, and political debates. With stunning performances by Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and R. Madhavan, the film is praised for its scale, action, and realism.

The sequel, Dhurandhar 2, is set to release on 19 March 2026, and promises an even bigger confrontation.
