Blue Origin is getting closer to launching its first robotic lander to the Moon's South Pole. The vehicle, known as the Blue Moon Mk.1, will fly onboard the company's New Glenn rocket and land near Shackleton Crater.
The roughly 8.1-meter-tall lunar lander was recently boxed up at Blue Origin's facilities in Florida and set sail towards the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. There it will undergo thermal vacuum chamber testing before returning to Florida for preflight checkouts and preparations.
