Описание: Thanks for asking me “How does my Bail / Bond get posted in FL?”

In FL State Court proceedings there’s 2 ways for bond to be posted: 1) Depending upon your jurisdiction's protocol the full amount of bail can be posted in cash by anyone with either the Jail or the Clerk of Court or 2) Bond can be posted by a bailbonds person, or a “surety”.

In the case of posting cash bail it's simple: Person X walks up to either the bond window at the jail or to the Clerk of Court, advises who's bail they wish to post, presents the dough (be it cash, credit card or check... again different jurisdictions will have different rules regarding what form of tender they’ll accept) and then Person X is issued a bail receipt. The bail money will be held by the Clerk until the case is either closed or the bond is violated - whichever comes first - but with cash bail there’s a catch, and that is that any court fees, court costs, or other criminal penalties will be deducted from the cash bond.

Alternatively you can employ a bailbonds person, or a surety, to handle posting bond. This process requires that a boat load of paperwork be filled-out by a guarantor, that a non-refundable 10% premium be paid to the surety (that’s the statutorily regulated bondsman’s fee) and the guarantor may or may not be required to collateralize the full amount of the bond before the surety will post the documents.

If you use a surety to post bond for someone else then you’re the one who’s on the hook, so should the accused fail to appear in court, get arrested or otherwise violate any of the many conditions of bond, then you’re the one who’s gonna be responsible to the surety for the full amount of the bond. That said...
