No, Larry Bird was NOT the 1981 #NBAFinals MVP, that honor lies with his teammate, veteran forward and former 20 ppg scorer, Cedric ‘Cornbread’ Maxwell who just averaged a measly 18 PPG, 10 RPG and 3 APG. Bird on the other side of the ORIGINAL BIG THREE front court (with Maxwell & Robert Parish), averaged a remarkable 15 PPG, 15 RPG and 7 APG. As you’ve can imagine, the Finals MVP race was quite a debate for Maxwell or Bird.
