In this video, I discuss how Bitcoin can scale to billions of people by using a combination of on-chain payments, layer 2s like the Lightning Network, as well as Bitcoin banks (which can range from KYC Wall Street banks to pirate banks) and Chaumian e-cash mints like fedimints and cashu.

Adding new or bringing back old opcodes comes with its own consensus challenges and risks that they might end up somehow breaking Bitcoin by disrupting the careful balance of incentives that has kept Bitcoin secure for 16 years.
