SKARDU Kachura Lake, Soq Valley, Katpana Cold Desert | Pakistan Travel Vlog

Описание: In this Pakistan travel vlog I leave Hunza Valley and begin my first day in Skardu, one of the most beautiful regions of northern Pakistan.

The journey starts with my last views of Hunza and a ride to Gilgit. There, two young Pakistani boys kindly guide me to the Skardu bus station, where I find a driver with a huge blue Toyota Land Cruiser, an old classic, perfect for this long mountain journey.

From Gilgit, we continue along a branch of the Karakoram Highway leading toward Skardu, a rough route surrounded by deep valleys and powerful rivers. Unfortunately my camera could not pick up enough light as we were driving through the night. We stopped at a small village for dinner: biryani, yakhni soup, and chicken cholay, hands down three of the best dishes I’ve tasted in Pakistan so far.

After a few hours of rest at my hotel in Skardu, the next morning I meet a local who offers to guide me around for the day. Together, we explore Lower Kachura Lake, also known as Shangrila Resort, a stunning Pakistan travel destination surrounded by snow-capped peaks. As a non-guest, I could only access one side of the lake, but the atmosphere was unforgettable. We continue to Upper Kachura Lake, where locals sell honey, jam, and dried fruits. I try jet skiing, though the experience turned out shorter than me and the owner agreed on, still a memorable Pakistan adventure.

Next, we ride toward Soq Valley, crossing traditional wooden Pakistani bridges with a powerful river rushing underneath. The road is rough, full of stones and mud, but the reward is one of a kind. The blue water of Soq Valley looks unreal, even reflecting on people’s skin and hair. At first I doubted if it was worth the dirt road because the scenery at the bridges were already amazing, but now I realize how unique it was, as if I just woke up from a dream.

On the way back, I show more of Skardu’s daily life, a stuck car, cattle walking on the road, open sandy fields of the Katpana Desert, and finally Katpana Lake, where fish farming takes place. The vlog ends at a hilltop restaurant overlooking the lake, the perfect peaceful ending after a wild day through mountains, valleys, and rivers.
