Construction commences on a temporary roundabout at Carrigaphooca, setting up early opening of the eastern sction of Macroom bypass for December 9th next.
This temporary roundabout is just west of the Carrigaphooca flyover where both new and existing roads are about the same level. Construction will take several weeks. When built it will allow the Coolcower to Carrigaphooca section of road to open to traffic and connect back into the existing road. A range of other works continue along the rout and some features in this clip include lay-bys, Garda speed cam platform, the big cut and more.
At the western side of the rout works are advancing on the 30m deep cut through the mountain and further works are underway on laying the new road.
