In this episode of Qisa Village, Filmmaker R Varun will take us to Samardha Village to show us how to play a popular traditional game from the villages of India, i.e. Kancha. Kancha or marbles, also called Goti in India, has different variants of rules and formats. There’s even an annual World Marble championship every year at The Greyhound pub in Tinsley Green, England since the 16th century, reports the BBC.

In this video, we will learn to play ‘60-70’ marbles of it. Many other Indian traditional games like Gili Danda, Pithu, Stapoo, langdi etc. are generally played outdoors . According to child development specialists, these kind of games have immense benefits for overall development of kids like boosting creativity, acquiring social skills, improving attention span and attaining motor skills. But in the age of virtual games, some of these traditional games are on the brink of extinction in India, as per a report by The Better India.
