WARNING: These DIY Heart Shaped Crayons Will Melt Your Heart

Made these heart shaped crayons with my kiddos this morning and it was such a fun and simple way to celebrate Valentine’s with my Galentines 🤗

If you’ve got broken crayons lying around your house too, this is the perfect kid-friendly craft to try to extend their lifespan for more hours of artistic expression.

MATERIALS:
• Heart shaped silicone mold (I got mine from Amazon)
• Broken or used crayons (with paper removed)
• Baking sheet
• Oven

Step 1: Get your crayon pieces nakie (aka, remove the wrapping paper). If they’re still large, break them into small enough pieces to fit into your mood.

Step 2: Fill your mold with crayon pieces. I like to sort them with similar colors, but you could also make rainbow crayons or fun gradients- just have fun! It’s important to note that the wax will melt down, so you may want to overfill your molds for thicker crayons.

Step 3: Place the silicone mold onto a baking sheet and heat the crayons in a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees for 15-30 minutes until wax is completely melted.

Step 4: Allow the wax to completely cool and then remove your new crayons from the silicone mold. Have fun coloring!
