Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 is a retro (classic) platform game (platformer) developed by Capcom and released for Nintendo Entertainment System (NES | Famicom) console in December 1993 in Japan, and later in the United States and Europe. It is based on Disney animated series Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers about two crime-fighting chipmunks. Rescue Rangers 2 is a sequel to the old video game with a similar name released in 1990. The gameplay is typical for platformers featuring single-player and cooperative (co-op) multiplayer (two-player) modes. During the game, Chip and Dale run, jump, hide and pick up objects such as crates, stones, balls, gears, cards and bombs to throw them at bosses and other enemies: robot dogs, bats, ghosts, etc. Each chipmunk can withstand only three direct hits, but collecting acorns restores the health. Unlike in the first game, there is no map where the players can choose the next level. The stages go in order with a single exception - Amusement Park where three levels can be played in any order before entering the final stage. The other Rescue Rangers are also present in the game. Monterey Jack (Monty) occasionally appears to feed Chip and Dale with cookies that restore health. Gadget Hackwrench and Zipper help the chipmunks during the entire journey by defusing bombs, opening taps and providing tips and advice. To the rescue!
