Jonathan Pageau has revealed how symbolism is the structure of human conscienceness, so I'm attempting to apply that understanding to storytelling. Jonathan and his brother Matthieu have an understanding that goes beyond mere articulation. I'm trying to formulate my own understanding in order to use it in the craft of narrative. In this video, I go into how the symbolic is based more in the concrete than the abstract, how symbolism is one of the fundamental ways we communicate meaning, and how this can be used by a writer who is approaching storytelling from a right brained way of thinking.
