KTM 350 Flame Out Fix How I Did It DIY

Описание: This is my KTM 350 flame out fix. This is on a 2013 KTM 350 XCF-W. It took a while and a lot of trial and error but I did completely eliminate my flameout and my bike has more power and is more responsive. Also, the bike does not seem to run any hotter or cooler than it did before I did anything to it.

Before I made any changes I ran through a 1 mile tight, technical section 2 twice and noted the number of flameouts. I performed this test many times to establish a baseline. The result was a very consistent average of 6 flame outs per 2 mile run through.

I then ran the same 2 mile route after each change and compared the results to the baseline.

Here are the changes (fixes) I did and their result:
(If your 350 has smog devices they should probably be removed (look up videos or kits for “de smog”)).

1. I went down to a 13 tooth sprocket. Result: flame out reduction was negligible.
2. Turned up my idle. Result: Flame out reduction was a just noticeable difference, about a 5% reduction in flame out.
3. Adjusted my TPS (throttle position sensor) to .6400. Result: 60% reduction in flame out!
4. Added a clutch weight. Result: horrible (video explains why) 70 to 80% increase in flame out (flameout was worse than it was before I did anything to the bike) – I removed clutch weight.
5. Removed exhaust cap noise screen (inside and outside screen). Result: 0% reduction in flameout, but much better throttle response.
6. Removed OEM exhaust tip and cut out the guts and reinstalled gutted OEM exhaust tip. Result: At least a 35% reduction in flameout = no more flame out,,,, at all!


These were the fixes I made and it worked for me. I am not aware of any adverse effects of making these changes, I am not a professional, and if you choose to make any of these changes it is at your own risk.

Every bike seems to be a little different, but I hope this information is helpful and if it doesn’t eliminate flameout completely on your bike maybe it will at least get you going in the direction. Please let me know what you think and what results are if you try this.
