January was a tough month mentally, but reading truly carried me through. In today’s January 2026 wrap up, I’m sharing the 12 books I read, from fantasy and poetry to tragic romance and emotional literary fiction.
I didn’t set out to lean into emotional stories, but somehow that’s where I kept landing. Maybe that says something about where I was in January.
This month also brought my first 5-star read of 2026. I’ll be sharing which one at the very end of the video.
If you’re looking for:
• January wrap up
• Comfort fantasy recommendations
• Tragic romance reads
• Myth retellings and immersive worlds
• A cosy magical book to add to your TBR
…I hope something here speaks to you.
Let me know what you read in January, and whether your reading mood ever reflects how you’re feeling.
