Marcoleta's alleged 'indirect briberies comprise the crime of plunder' – Ombudsman | ANC

Описание: Dateline Philippines: Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano on Wednesday (July 1) defended the office's decision to file a plunder case against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, saying the complaint stemmed from several alleged acts of indirect bribery.

Clavano said the Ombudsman found that a series or combination of such acts could constitute the crime of plunder under the law.

He also reiterated that the case is based not only on Marcoleta's alleged failure to disclose the amount in his SOCE and SALN, but also on the senator's admission that he accepted large sums of money while serving as a public official, which Clavano said is prohibited under the law.
