Ciao a tutti: ogni tanto non mi trovo il suono a fuoco nella terza ottava, almeno all’inizio della terza ottava. Alcune note sono un po’ difficili da centrare, come il Do e il Do diesis. Fino al Re, non sono sempre a fuoco come vorrei.
Spesso mi aggiusto e mi aiuta molto questo esercizio, che vi consiglio. Spero possa essere utile anche a voi per trovare il focus del suono.
Partendo dall’idea di mettere a fuoco un Do in questa ottava, parto dall’armonico, poi frullo l’armonico (con un frullato di lingua e di gola).
Poi il frullato si esegue sulla nota reale, non più sull’armonico, trasformandolo in una nota reale. Alla fine la nota lunga dovrebbe essere più stabile e più a fuoco rispetto all’inizio, ed anche più voluminosa.

Quindi, ci sono quattro fasi di sistemazione del suono:
1. Armonico
2. Frullato armonico
3. Frullato sulla nota reale
4. Nota reale

Alla fine personalmente trovo il suono molto più a fuoco rispetto all’inizio.

Hi everyone, sometimes I struggle to focus the third octave, at least the beginning of the third octave. Some notes are a bit difficult to center, like C and C-sharp up to D, I’m not always as focused as I’d like.
I often adjust myself, and this exercise helps me a lot. I also recommend it to you and I hope it helps you too to focus the sound.
Starting from the idea of focusing a C in this octave, I start from the harmonic, then I flutter the harmonic (with a tongue and throat flutter).
Then the flutter is on the real note, no longer on the harmonic, transforming it into a real note. At the end, the long note should be more stable and more in focus compared to the start.

So, there are four phases of sound adjustment:
1. Harmonic
2. Fluttered harmonic
3. Fluttered real note
4. Real note

In the end, I find my sound much more in focus compared to the beginning.

Attualmente ricopre il ruolo di Professore di Flauto presso il Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana di Lugano (CSI) e Visiting Tutor Professor alla RNCM di Manchester oltre che essere concertista e docente invitato nei più importanti Festival del mondo.
Registra per Sony, Decca, Hyperion, Brillant, Da Vinci Records e Aulicusclassics: il suo CD delle Sonate di Bach registrato con la pianista Angela Hewitt ha ricevuto il prestigioso premio iTunes Award 2013.
Ideatore e Direttore Artistico dei concorsi per assegnazione borse di studio "G. Betti" e "C. Klemm" in collaborazione con Falaut.

Andrea Oliva (1977, Modena) is Principal Solo Flutist of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra in Rome since 2003, member and founder of the "Wind Quintet of Santa Cecilia and Concertgebouw" and member of the chamber music ensemble "I Cameristi di Santa Cecilia".

Andrea Oliva won the first prize in the prestigious Kobe International Competition (2005) and third prize in the ARD of Munich (2004).
From 2000 to 2002 he was one of the academist in the Karajan Akademie in Berlin and played as a guest with the Berliner Philharmoniker. He is the Guest Principal Flute of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and NDR of Hamburg.

He is Flute Professor in the Svizzera Italiana Conservatory CSI in Lugano and Visiting Tutor Professor in the RNCM of Manchester. He also performs and teaches in the most important Festivals in the world.
