The Ummayad Emirate of Cordoba had been firmly established in Al Andalus thanks to Abdur Rahman Ad-Daakhil

This episode concentrates on the 3 Rulers who succeeded him in ruling the emirate or Cordoba. These People are Hisham 1st, Al-Hakam 1st and Abdur Rahman 2nd.

Apart from looking at their policies and military exploits I also cover what the Muslims of Al Andalus did with the geography of the land and how they used the geography to enhance their society. I also explore the varying personalities of these 3 men who were grandfather, father and son in respect to each other.

All societies have milieus, classes, factions and potential fault lines. This episodes delves into these issues looking at how the different religions mixed with each other and what political opposition groups looked like during this time period

Also explained in this part, is how the culture in Al Andalus was developed, from where it was influenced and what other societies it influenced with its culture. In actual fact the influence of Al Andalus can still be seen to this very day in many cultures and societies around the world
