michael was a revolutionary figure in the world of solo acoustic guitar. he tragically died in an auto accident in 1997. i'm releasing this video to help support funding for a documentary movie on michael's life and music. i would not be the guitarist - or the musician - i am today, if not for michael - many of today's leading acoustic instrumental guitarists can say the same thing. if you possibly can, please support the making of this documentary movie. and please feel free to share this video - it will only be up for a few days.

ORACLE is the first documentary about Grammy Award winning guitarist Michael Hedges since his untimely death in 1997. Directed by filmmakers Mischa Hedges and Brendan Hedges (Michael’s son and brother), the story of Michael's life & music career will be told by his family, close friends, collaborators & fans, with never-before-seen footage & unreleased music.

The filmmakers are raising funding on Seed&Spark to complete production of the documentary, which is anticipated to premiere in late 2024.
