Hi, Jeff here, now, one of key skills to becoming an awesome entrepreneur is execution. People think sometimes it's ideas, you have brilliant ideas. Everyone's got a good enough ideas to be a millionaire, it's executing on those ideas and making them happen that's the key thing. Now one of the main things that we need to do in order to execute is create the discipline to keep the main thing the main thing, and be focused on that. And there's so many things that are gonna try and pull us off the path of that. Now even on a day to day basis there's the instant gratification monkey. Which is we are programed to have gratification now, not gratification later. It's like the experiment they did with kids, they put in a room with a marshmallow, and they say, if we come back in five minutes and that marshmallow's still there you can have two marshmallows. You have an extra one, and the majority of the time though the kids come back they're still eating the marshmallow, and they don't care about the second one. And that's what we're like, but the instant gratification we get when we're sat our desks, when we're working, is very different. First the most importantly in modern age, dopamine. You have massive dopamine here every time we go on Facebook, you go on your phone, look on LinkedIn, you start browsing, and we get addicted to that. I know that when I was sat there a few minutes ago looking at what videos I was gonna make to share with people, and as soon as I hit a blocker I was like, my brain stopped working, my hand's itching towards that phone to pick it up, to check LinkedIn or whatever. It's just a distraction in that way, but we've got other ones. We've got, we get our instant gratification monkey likes being felt important so maybe we go around our businesses getting involved in things that we shouldn't get involved with, making ourselves feel busy and important. That gives us gratification now. Maybe you sat there in front of a spreadsheet, and if you're like me and you like connecting with people, after a while you feel you wanna go talk to someone. And I know in my previous business, I had an office here, I sat on my own, it was a bad set up based on my personality. And then my team over there in the other office, and they'll all having fun together and bantering in the room, and I was on my own. So I used to go over there after a while, and just interfere with stuff 'cause I wanted to be connected, my instant gratification monkey wanted to be connected to other people. So there's so many different ways that we look for instant gratification, feeling important, feeling liked, dopamine, all those things, they're all distractions. And remember, the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing and that takes discipline. So we have to overcome those, and when you see them coming, great tip for the phone thing by the way is if you feel your hand itching to the phone when you're doing some work that you're finding challenging, or boring, or something like that, is feel the feel the instinct to go towards the phone and go I'll do that in 10 minutes, I'll give myself that in 10 minutes. And that's just enough of a stop to stop you from doing that, 'cause in 10 minutes time you're probably back in flow with the task anyway, and you'll get it done, so... I hope that was useful, execution is so important, so many ideas that come and go and they're wasted cause the execution isn't there, and the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
