വിഴിഞ്ഞം അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര തുറമുഖത്ത് വന്കിട ലോജിസ്റ്റിക്സ് മാസ്റ്റര് പ്ലാന് അവതരിപ്പിക്കാനൊരുങ്ങി കേരള സര്ക്കാര്. ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഐ.ഒ.സി.എല് , കോണ്കോര് , സി.ഡബ്ല്യു.സി എന്നീ കേന്ദ്ര പൊതുമേഖലാ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുമായി വിഴിഞ്ഞം ഇന്റര്നാഷണല് സീപോര്ട്ട് ലിമിറ്റഡ് ഒപ്പുവെച്ചു. നിയമസഭയിലെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ചേംബറില് വിസില് ചെയര്മാന് കൂടിയായ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിലായിരുന്നു ചടങ്ങ്.വെറുമൊരു തുറമുഖ നിര്മാണം എന്നതിനപ്പുറം വിഴിഞ്ഞത്തെ പൂര്ണ്ണതോതിലുള്ള സാമ്പത്തിക വികസന കേന്ദ്രമാക്കി മാറ്റുകയാണ് ലക്ഷ്യം. സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാരിന്റെ പൂര്ണ്ണ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള വിഴിഞ്ഞം ഇന്റര്നാഷണല് സീപോര്ട്ട് ലിമിറ്റഡ് , മൂന്ന് വന്കിട കേന്ദ്ര പൊതുമേഖലാ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുമായി ചേര്ന്ന് 2000 കോടി രൂപയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യ വികസന പദ്ധതികള്ക്കാണ് തുടക്കമിടുന്നത്.
The Kerala government is set to unveil a major logistics master plan at the Vizhinjam International Seaport. In this regard, Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited (VISL) has signed agreements with central public sector enterprises including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), and Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).
The signing ceremony was held in the Chief Minister’s chamber at the State Assembly in the presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who also serves as the Chairman of VISL.
The objective is to transform Vizhinjam into a full-fledged economic development hub, going beyond merely building a port. Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited, a fully state-owned company, is launching infrastructure development projects worth ₹2,000 crore in collaboration with three major central public sector undertakings.
