KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo - AMT Auto Mode (Street) – Almost Perfect… But Not Quite
In this ride I’m testing the automatic mode of the KTM AMT gearbox in Street mode.
In my previous video I focused on manual shifting, but this time I wanted to see how the AMT behaves when left in automatic mode during normal riding.
At low speeds the system still provides very good control and a natural slipping-clutch feel, which makes slow maneuvers easier. The rear brake also helps a lot in tight situations.
In city traffic the automatic mode works very well and becomes especially useful when using the ACC radar cruise control, which can even bring the bike to a complete stop and start again.
On more open and twisty roads, however, I still prefer manual shifting. In Street auto mode the gearbox sometimes upshifts a bit too early for my taste, so I occasionally make manual corrections.
The bike is still in the break-in period, so Sport mode testing will come later.
