The Parbatya Chattagram Nagarik Parishad has organized a human chain and protest rally, demanding the rehabilitation of families and the arrest of the culprits responsible for the killing of 35 Bengalis by tribal terrorists in Pakuakhali, Rangamati, in 1996.

The program was held on Tuesday morning, August 9, at the Shapla Chattar in Khagrachari town, and was attended by leaders and activists of the organization. Speakers at the rally stated that the Pakuakhali massacre is a dark chapter in history. They noted that even after so many years, justice has not been served. They warned that peace in the hills will not be possible until those involved in the killing, including Shantu Larma and other murderers, are brought to justice immediately.

Following the human chain, a protest march and the burning of an effigy took place.
