"Two snails are on their way. To bury a dead leaf. They’ve painted their shell black. And have veils round their horns. They set forth in the night. A lovely autumn night. Alas when they get there. They find that spring has sprung. And the leaves that had died. Have all come back to life. And the two little snails. Are well disappointed. But here comes out the sun. And the sun which tells them. Do please take the trouble. The trouble to sit down. Do take a glass of beer. If you feel like a beer. And if you’re so inclined. The bus going to Paris. It will leave in the night. And you will see new land. Don’t go into mourning. Better listen to me. It blackens your white eye. And will uglify you. Tales of graves and coffins. Are sad not very nice. You need colours on you. Colours of life itself. All the birds and the beasts. All the trees plants and shrubs. Start singing a song. Singing with all their might. The real song of life. The true song of summer. And everybody drinks. And raises their glasses. It is a lovely night. A lovely summer night. And the two little snails. Are now heading for home. With a lump in their throat. But also joy in their heart. As they’ve drunk quite a lot. They’re stumbling around. But high in the sky. The moon’s watching over them"
