It’s easy to be fooled by a fancy label
Trying to impress everybody at the table
All big britches and a turned up nose
Going on and on about the flowery notes
The night wears thin The check gets fat
Your friends heads out and all that’s left is the

Empty bottle
Empty bottle
Can’t take it with you, can’t pour it back
Can’t fill it up with whatever you lack
It’s an empty bottle


Walk out the door, and right down the street
There’s a little bit of neon calling me
And it’s dark and it’s loud and it’s a pretty good crowd
Maybe I don’t fit in, but I don’t stand out
Buy a couple rounds, rack up a tab
Still a little thirsty when they call me a cab
Look down at my hand it’s an
