In this second part of the tutorial series, we’ll continue transforming a CSV file into an X12 856 (Advance Ship Notice) using Altova MapForce. Building on what we covered in Part 1, we’ll now focus on mapping the HL (Hierarchical Level) segments — giving you a deeper understanding of how to map flat file formats into a structured EDI layout.
By the end of this session, you’ll have a fully completed 856 mapping and a solid grasp of the processes involved — knowledge you can easily apply to future EDI or data transformation solutions.
📌 What you’ll learn in this video:
🔹How to map HL segments from a flat file source
🔹Best practices for structuring hierarchical data
🔹Completing and validating your 856 EDI mapping
🔹Generating and reviewing the final EDI output
🧩 Tools Used:
