Sweat It Out Spots In Kuching Part 1: Malaysia-China Friendship Park, Taman Sahabat 砂拉越古晋马中友谊公园

Описание: This is part 1 or our series to introduce visitors to Kuching of the various outdoor spots around the city where they can sweat it out before/after work or make friends with locals while joining in some of the exercise classes held in such places. To kick start the series we shall feature the Malaysia-China Friendship Park. The short name is Taman Sahabat. It is tucked in the middle of a poshy looking housing estate along Jalan Song. This joint venture park between Sarawak and China commemorates the arrival of world’s most famous explorer Admiral Cheng Ho to Sarawak and Borneo.
The park has two entrances. One, the Chinese arch and the other Sarawak arch. In between is a small lake to signify the South China Sea with the huge statue of Cheng Ho sailing through in his junk boat. Kids love feeding the fish here. Don’t forget to bring along your own bread crumbs or fish feed.
Food and beverage are available in the evening at the Chinese style tea house called the D’Tea Pavilion.
Terrain here is very flat.
Toilet facilities are available at both the Pavilion and the other at a distant near the Sarawak entrance.
This park is managed by MBKS and entrance is FOC.
