Polling Day in Kerala: Voting Begins Across the State, High Stakes, Massive Turnout Expected

From senior citizens who have voted in every election for decades to first-time voters experiencing the process for the first time, the state continues to reflect a strong culture of democratic engagement.

In this election, 2.69 crore voters will elect 140 MLAs across 30,495 polling stations. There are over 4.24 lakh first-time voters, averaging nearly 3,000 in each constituency. Women voters outnumber men by around 7 lakh, and 352 polling booths are being managed entirely by women.

Polling is taking place from 11 AM to 7 PM, with arrangements in place across the state.
