Dean Mel Sta. Maria said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. should play a more active role in addressing the ongoing Senate leadership standoff, arguing that the situation calls for stronger executive leadership.

Speaking on #TheSpokes, Sta. Maria said the President should not remain silent on the issue and should make his position clearer as competing blocs continue to dispute control of the Senate. He noted that Malacañang has already signaled recognition of the majority bloc and suggested that the President may further address the matter in his upcoming State of the Nation Address.
