RECIPE # 139) Biscuit Bread Pudding, Granny’s
 5-6 leftover homemade buttermilk biscuits
 9x9 or 7x11-inch pan
 4 large eggs
 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
 1/2 cup granulated sugar
 12 oz. can evaporated milk
 1/2 cup water
Optional: 2 cups of whole milk can be substituted for evaporated milk and water
 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, optional
 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Whisk eggs, sugars, milk, water, butter, and spices in a bowl. Crumble biscuits into a greased pan and pour the mixture over them. Soak for 20 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 40 minutes (or 300°F if using a toaster oven) until set. Serve warm or cold.
RECIPE # 422) Vanilla Cream Sauce
 1 cup half & half
 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
 1/4 tsp salt
 1 Tbsp corn starch
 1 large egg
Whisk ingredients well - microwave on high for 3 minutes. The pudding should be thick; if not, microwave it until it thickens. Add:
 1/2 cup half & half
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 2 Tbsp salted butter
Whisk until smooth and serve over warm bread pudding or baked apples.
