In normal operation, the flap of the B-FLAP explosion proof check valve is either opened by the energy of the flowing air or locked by the RPD mechanism. The locking mechanism ensures that the valve is always open regardless of the air flow and significantly reduces pressure losses in the pipework.
In the event of an explosion, the valve is closed and locked in the closed position by an air shock wave. In this way, the explosion check valve prevents an explosion from spreading through the pipework.
