In Ancient Egypt, both men and women wore bright red lipstick to show their wealth and status.
Because only the rich could afford lipstick at that time.

But in European nobility, things get a bit weird.
Elite men and women wore makeup to have pale skin and red cheeks. Because having tan skin meant you worked in the sun, making you a peasant.

Roman, Greek, Egyptian, South Asian, European, and many more.
because they allowed freedom of movement.
And in medieval Europe, Stockings were worn almost exclusively by men. The stockings were tight and visible to show leg strength and masculinity
But if you wear any of these things now, you might be called gay.
