The sound of this ensemble turns back to the roots of oriental music, based on the scales of ragas, and Bulgarian-Turkish scale variations, so called makamas, as well as the tipical mood of the half-tone scales frequently used by Bartók.

This group was founded in 1994 with the aim to create a particular kind of music, a special soundscape, and to seek what is common in the different musical cultures of different nations. It is improvised chamber-music featuring classical music as well as modern jazz, though the structures of rhythm and melody reflect an impact of Eastern-European folklore and Far-Eastern musical cultures. Tin-Tin is one of the most renowned ethno-jazz groups in Eastern-Europe. Their concerts in Hungary and abroad, participations on folk and jazz festivals (Lugano, Milan, Bergamo, Venice, Agrigento, Maribor, Varso, Skopje, Amsterdam) were all tremendous successes. The group has four CDs, played film and theatre music several times, and frequently gave concerts together with guest musicians from Hungary or abroad.
